FAQ

Frequently asked questions about turbocharger repair

How long does a turbocharger rebuild take?

Rebuilding your turbocharger usually takes about one week. The exact time depends on its condition, the extent of the damage and parts availability.

Can you rebuild my actual turbocharger?

Yes. Bring or send us your turbocharger and, where technically possible, we will rebuild and return that same unit.

Which is faster: rebuilding my turbo or using the exchange stock?

The exchange stock is normally faster. You install a ready-remanufactured turbocharger and send your old unit back to us.

When should I choose to rebuild my own turbo?

Choose an individual rebuild if the vehicle can wait about a week, the turbo is rare or no suitable exchange unit is available.

When should I choose the exchange stock?

Choose the exchange stock when the vehicle is needed quickly and a suitable remanufactured turbocharger is available.

Can I know the exact repair price in advance?

An exact price can be confirmed after diagnosis. The final cost depends on the damage and the work required.

Must the cause of failure be fixed before installing the turbo?

Yes. If the root cause is not corrected, a rebuilt or new turbocharger may fail again.
